Actor Diego Luna is to reprise his "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" character, Cassian Andor, for a new live action series.

Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, will feature a prequel to "Rogue One" when it debuts next year.

The show will follow the early days of the rebel character.

"Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me," the Mexican star says. "I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us and this new, exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply."

Luna isn't the only star bringing a movie character to the small screen for Disney - Tom Hiddleston will feature in a new Disney+ series as Thor's bad boy bother Loki.

Disney and Marvel bosses have confirmed they are developing a series based on the fan-favorite character.
